WHY DO DOGS ROLL IN SMELLY THINGS?

Many believe your dogs action to roll in smells within grass for example is an instinctual behaviour, going back to the days when your dogs wild ancestors would mask there scent in order to sneak up on there prey. Animales such as Wolves have been observed rolling in animal carcasses and the droppings from plant-eating animals, to cover up there own smell during the hunt. Annoying and smelly as it may be, not to mention that second doggie bath you need to prepare, no action or training needs to be taken on your dog for this as its a very normal thing.
